Where the Caribbean plan works

The Caribbean plans put one profile across up to 38 islands — the Greater Antilles, the whole Eastern Caribbean chain, the Dutch and French islands, Bermuda and the Turks and Caicos. One allowance, no reinstalling every time you change island; the coverage counter on each plan card is the honest number for the plan you pick.

Why regional makes more sense here than almost anywhere. Caribbean itineraries hop. A week that touches Saint Lucia, Martinique and Barbados is short in distance and long in borders — three country plans for what feels like one trip. This is the plan that fixes that.

Cruise passengers, read this bit. The plan works in port and near shore. It does not work at sea, and the ship’s own maritime network bills at rates that produce the horror stories. Keep the phone in airplane mode between ports and turn data on once you’re alongside.

The French islands — Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, Saint Barthélemy — are on the deeper plans here and are not covered by a mainland France plan. That’s the single most common mix-up on this route.

Coverage is strong along coast roads and in towns everywhere, with 5G in Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, the Bahamas, the Caymans, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. Interiors and open water are where it stops.

Broader trip? The North America plan covers the US, Canada and Mexico, and the Global plan carries the widest coverage on this site.

How to install it

  1. 1

    Buy in a minute

Pick a Caribbean plan and pay. Your QR code arrives by email within minutes — no account, no shipping.

  2. 2

    Install on Wi-Fi

Scan the code before you fly. The profile sits alongside your normal SIM and stays switched off until you need it.

  3. 3

    Land connected

Turn on data roaming for the TravelNet line when you arrive. The plan starts counting down on that first connection, not at checkout.

Will my phone work?

You need an eSIM-capable, carrier-unlocked phone: an iPhone XS or newer, a Pixel 3 or newer, or a recent Samsung Galaxy S, Z or A-series flagship. Dial *#06# — if an EID number is listed alongside the IMEI, the phone has an eSIM.

Caribbean eSIM questions

Which islands does the Caribbean plan cover?

The deepest plans reach 38 destinations — Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, the Bahamas, the Caymans, Aruba, Bonaire, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, the Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, the British Virgin Islands and the whole Eastern Caribbean chain from Anguilla down to Grenada, plus the French islands. Coverage differs between plans — check the counter on each plan card; the full list is above the plans.

Why is a regional plan more useful in the Caribbean than elsewhere?

Because the islands are small and the itineraries hop. A week that touches Saint Lucia, Martinique and Barbados would otherwise mean three country plans and three installs for what is, geographically, a short trip. One profile covering the chain is the point.

Does it work on a cruise?

In port and near shore, yes — the plan connects to the island networks as you arrive. It does not work at sea. Maritime satellite roaming on a cruise ship is separately billed by the ship's own network at very high rates, so keep your phone in airplane mode between ports and switch data on once you're alongside.

Which network will I be on?

A different partner on each island, handing over automatically as you move — a major island network in each market rather than a fringe one. We don't publish a single operator for a regional plan.

Is 5G available?

In parts, on plans marked 5G. Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, the Bahamas, the Caymans, Bermuda and Puerto Rico have 5G in their main population centres. Most of the smaller islands are 4G/LTE, which covers the coast roads and towns well.

How much data do I need for a two-week Caribbean trip?

A small plan is usually enough — resort and villa Wi-Fi is near-universal and does most of the work. Boats, beaches away from Wi-Fi, or working remotely push you up a size or two.

Is Puerto Rico included, and does my US plan cover it?

Puerto Rico is on the deeper Caribbean plans. It's also served by US networks, so a United States plan may cover it depending on the partner arrangement — if Puerto Rico is the only Caribbean stop on a US trip, check that first.

Are the French islands included?

Yes — Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy appear on the deeper plans. They run on French Caribbean operators and are not covered by a mainland France plan, which is the mistake people make.

Will I have signal on the water — sailing, ferries, day trips?

Near shore and between close islands, usually. Once you're a few miles out, no. Ferry crossings in the Grenadines and between Saint Kitts and Nevis generally hold a signal; longer open-water passages don't.

Can I tether?

Yes, everywhere the plan works.
