Where the Middle East plan works
The Middle East plans put one profile across up to 13 destinations — built around the Gulf circuit and the Jordan–Israel route, with the deeper plans stretching across North Africa to Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia, and to Turkey. The coverage counter on each plan card is the honest number for the plan you pick.
The calling restriction is the headline. Internet voice and video calling has long been blocked on UAE networks and restricted at times in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman. It’s imposed at the network level on all traffic, including roaming, so no eSIM provider can sell you around it — and any that implies otherwise is being loose with the truth. WhatsApp messages, e-mail, maps and streaming work normally. Locally licensed calling apps are the workaround, along with hotel Wi-Fi. Jordan and Israel are unrestricted.
Not covered anywhere: Iran, Yemen and Palestine. No roaming partner currently offers workable coverage in any of the three, which is why they have no pages here. If your route includes them, plan for local connectivity on the ground.
Coverage in the Gulf states is among the best in the world — dense 5G, coverage in metro tunnels, strong signal on the desert highways. Jordan is well covered on the tourist route including Petra and the Dead Sea.
Single-country trip? UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel all have their own pages and usually undercut the regional plan.

Middle East eSIM questions
Which countries does the Middle East plan cover?
The deepest plans reach 13 destinations: the Gulf six — UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman — plus Jordan, Israel, Iraq, and across North Africa to Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey. Coverage differs between plans, so check the counter on each plan card; the full list sits above the plans.
Will WhatsApp and FaceTime calling work?
It depends which country you're in, and it's the most important thing to know about this region. Internet voice and video calling has historically been blocked on networks in the UAE, and restricted at times in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman. Those are national-level rules applied to all traffic on those networks, roaming included — no eSIM can route around them. Messaging, e-mail, maps and streaming are unaffected. Jordan and Israel have no such restrictions.
Is it cheaper than country plans?
Only for multi-country trips. The UAE, Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia pages are worth checking first for a single-country stay. The regional plan is for the Gulf business circuit or a Jordan–Israel itinerary, where the alternative is two or three profiles.
Is 5G available?
In the Gulf, extensively — the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman have some of the densest 5G deployments anywhere. Jordan and Israel have good 5G in the cities. Iraq is 4G/LTE at best.
How much data do I need for a Gulf business trip?
A small plan covers a week of meetings — hotel and office Wi-Fi in the Gulf is excellent and free. Hotspotting a laptop between venues, or a longer stay, wants a mid-size plan. Count 100–200 MB a day plus 1 GB per hour of video calls.
Which network will I be on?
A different partner in each country — the profile hands over as you cross borders, attaching to a major national network in each market.
Does it work in Jordan's desert — Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Petra?
Petra, Wadi Musa, the Dead Sea resorts and the Desert Highway all have solid coverage. Wadi Rum has service around the village and the main camps and loses it deeper into the protected area, which is fine — that's rather the point of Wadi Rum.
What about Iran, Yemen and Palestine?
None of the three is currently covered by any plan we can sell — no roaming partner offers workable coverage there. That's also why they no longer have their own pages on this site. The nearest covered options are Iraq, Jordan and the Gulf states.
Do I need a passport or local ID to activate it?
No. Buying a prepaid SIM in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Qatar means presenting a passport at a kiosk and sometimes a biometric scan. A roaming eSIM has none of that.
Can I tether?
Yes, everywhere the plan works. Gulf 5G tethering is genuinely fast.
