Where the Asia plan works
The Asia plans put one profile across up to 26 destinations, from Tokyo to Colombo and Almaty to Jakarta — and the deeper plans reach Australia and New Zealand as well. One allowance, one install, no swapping profiles between countries; the coverage counter on each plan card is the honest number for the plan you pick.
When it’s the right choice. Asia has some of the cheapest single-country data on this site — Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam all have their own pages. If you’re visiting one or two countries, buy those. The regional plan is for the four-or-five-stop itinerary, or the trip where the plan changes halfway through.
On China. China is in the coverage list, but national content restrictions apply to traffic on Chinese networks and no eSIM seller can honestly promise otherwise. Some roaming configurations route internationally and behave like a foreign connection; that is not something we’ll guarantee in advance. If unrestricted access matters, install and test a VPN before you arrive — the app stores that sell them are restricted once you’re in the country.
Coverage is excellent in East Asia (5G nearly everywhere that matters), good in Southeast Asian cities and along the tourist routes, and more variable in South and Central Asia — strong in Indian cities, thinner in the Himalayan valleys and rural Central Asia.

How to install it
- 1
Buy in a minute
Pick a Asia plan and pay. Your QR code arrives by email within minutes — no account, no shipping.
- 2
Install on Wi-Fi
Scan the code before you fly. The profile sits alongside your normal SIM and stays switched off until you need it.
- 3
Land connected
Turn on data roaming for the TravelNet line when you arrive. The plan starts counting down on that first connection, not at checkout.
Will my phone work?
You need an eSIM-capable, carrier-unlocked phone: an iPhone XS or newer, a Pixel 3 or
newer, or a recent Samsung Galaxy S, Z or A-series flagship. Dial *#06# — if
an EID number is listed alongside the IMEI, the phone has an eSIM.

Asia eSIM questions
Which countries does the Asia plan cover?
The deepest plans reach 26 destinations spanning East Asia, Southeast Asia, South and Central Asia — Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka and more — and several include Australia and New Zealand too. Coverage differs between plans: the counter on each plan card is the number for that plan, and the full list is above the plans.
Is it better than buying country plans?
Does it work in mainland China, and does it get past the firewall?
China is included in the coverage list. Whether specific services are reachable depends on how the partner network routes traffic, and that isn't something any eSIM seller can promise — the restrictions apply at a national level. Some roaming configurations route internationally and behave like a foreign connection; others don't. If unrestricted access matters for a China trip, plan for a VPN installed and tested before you arrive, because the app stores that sell VPNs are themselves restricted.
Which network will I be on?
A different partner network in each country, handing over as you cross borders. We don't publish a single operator for a regional plan — you get a major national network in each market rather than a fringe one.
Is 5G included?
On plans marked 5G, where the local network offers it. East Asia has some of the densest 5G on earth — Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong are all well covered. Southeast Asia has real 5G in the big cities. South and Central Asia are more mixed, with India the standout.
How much data do I need for a Southeast Asia loop?
A mid-size plan carries a two-to-three week loop with hostel and hotel Wi-Fi filling in; working as you go wants a size or two more — and Asia is where a lot of people do. Grab, Gojek, Google Maps and translation apps run constantly and add up.
Does it cover Hong Kong and Macau separately from China?
Yes, all three are separate destinations in the coverage list. They operate independent networks, so the handover between them is a normal roaming event.
Do I need to register the eSIM in any of these countries?
No. Several — India, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam — require registration or a passport for locally bought SIMs. India's is the most onerous, involving a form and a verification wait. A roaming eSIM avoids all of them.
Can I tether?
Yes, everywhere the plan works.
Does the allowance carry across borders?
Yes — one allowance on one profile, spent wherever you are. Nothing to activate at a border.
